How is this mounted on the aircraft? Can we glue it? Or does it need special mounting hardware? Is it big enough to store an Ipad and a sectional chart?

All can be screwed or glued. Does not need special mounting hardware. Only the large ones are big enough for an iPad and sectional chart (13-03085 + 13-03088).

Is this holder pliable enough to bend a few degrees and does it have a back?

It does not have a back, and is fairly rigid, and not intended to be bent.
