WARNING: POSSIBLE LINK BETWEEN CHROMATE PIGMENTS AND LUNG CANCER

Several independent technical studies have suggested that excessive inhalation of zinc chromate dust may cause lung cancer. On the basis of these findings, the manufacturers have requested that the sale of zinc chromate primer and zinc chromate primer aerosol be restricted to commercial or professional shop use. Professional users should be certain that workers are not exposed to concentrations in excess of the O.S.H.A. threshold limit value (TLV) of 0.1 milligram (as chromium) per cubic meter. If conditions are such that this limit may be exceeded, additional protective equipment is required. A respirator that has a NIOSH/MESA approval TC-23C. See catalog for respirators that meet this requirement.

Does the Tempo Engine Enamel paint need a primer?

Per manufacturer: When used over bare metal you will need to prep and prime the surface before using this engine enamel.

What is the best type of primer to use before applying this Tempo engine paint?

Primer is not commonly used for engine cases, but a 2-part epoxy primer would work very well.

Does Tempo recommend any certain brand high temp primer for use on the engine case/ cylinders?

Per the TDS, "bare metal should be primed." They do not mention a specific primer.

Can I use this on fiberglass (like inlet ducts and plenum cover), and if so what should the surface prep/prime be? And if not, would would be the recommendation for this application?

You would need to sand and prime the fiberglass with a self etch primer first (09-02099 for example) but this should work fine.
