ALFI - AIRCRAFT LED FLASHER INTERFACE

Описание

The ALFI (Aircraft LED Flasher Interface) employs the LED's ability to be rapidly flashed to serve in the role of collision avoidance. Intended for continuous inflight use of your aircraft's LED exterior illumination lights, the ALFI system produces flashing sequences that randomly change each two to five seconds, resulting in a highly visible, attention retaining collision avoidance lighting environment from lights previously devoted to illumination.

As an illumination appliance the LED is indeed pricey...but, as a potentially life saving collision avoidance tool, it is...priceless!

Eligibilities

System Requirements

  • The first consideration: Is your aircraft's electrical system 12 or 24 volts? Secondly: How many installed LED lights will be powered by the system? Lastly: How many switches are installed and to which lights?
  • Each ALFI system is accompanied by detailed installation instructions based on the requirements of each aircraft lighting system and instructions for continued airwothiness (ICA) are included in anticipation of timely approval for a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) and/or Part Manufacturing Approval (PMA).

Вопросы и ответы
Does the ALFI LED Flasher Interface work with standard taxi/landing lights?

Per the manufacturer, the Alfi LED flasher interface is designed to only work with LED lights.

Does the ALFI work with standard taxi / landing lights?

No, ALFI is designed and limited to use with LED illumination lights only. Filament based lights are much higher amperage and are incapable of the rapid flash rates produced by the ALFI.

what amperage will all four in series take?

The circuit breaker required for 4 lights is 5 amps.

Is this unit able to be installed in a certified aircraft? Can I use this in a Cessna 150 with a LED landing light and two LED wingtip lights?

No, as the FAA/PMA approval is still pending. Since it is currently experimental, you would have to get a 337 field approval for it to be installed on a Cessna aircraft.
