Does this Rapco RA1K1-4-6 fitting self-seal to the instrument or do you have to use teflon?

The fittings should self-seal as they are NPT threads. If you insist on using something you can use a dry silicone spray, but you must make sure it completely dries before installing the fitting.
Teflon tape is NOT recommended on any part of the pneumatic system as it can get sucked into the system and ruin the pump or instruments.
