What size hose do I order for the connections on the back of this gauge. Does this come with instructions?

The UMA Suction Gauge does come with instructions. It states that you must you a 1/4" nipple (or 1/8" NPT fitting) on the back of the instrument.

Does this UMA 1" gauge include a clear glass (or more likely plastic) window to protect the face? I cannot tell from the picture.
