The AV-534 is a heavy-duty stainless steel quarterwave VHF communications antenna. It is manufactured with a durable type stainless steel whip and large stress-relieved ferrule and comes complete with porcelain insulators and mounting hardware. The antenna is designed to operate at speeds of up to 350 mph and altitudes of 50,000 ft. It has a drag force of 0.56 lb @ 250 mph.

I'm thinking of ordering the AV-534L. Do I need the install kit too? What is included in it?

The install kit is recommended for matching hardware. We have added a parts list for the install kit as in the overview tab as a PDF download.

Description of the antenna says that mounting hardware is included, but the page is also offering a separate install kit with hardware. I find it confusing. Question is: are the elements of the install kit included with the antenna or must they be bought separately?

P/N# AV-534 does come with the hardware for installation. If for some reason you misplaced the hardware or need replacement parts for installation, you will then need to purchase the install kit.

Whats the difference between the AV-534 and the AV-534L?

THE L IS THE SAME but furnished with 96" lead of RG58 A/U cable with male BNC and ground strap with lugs.

Does the Rami AV-534 comes with a mounting base that secures to the airframe?

A mounting base is not included and not required for this antenna.

Would the AV-534 be appropriate for a belly installation (specifically on a low to the ground Mooney M20E)?

No, it is not recommended for belly installation. The angle is recommended for top mount.

Is this RAMI AV 534 antenna also suitable for 833 Radios?

Yes, this antenna will work with 8.33 spaced radios.

Can I order a replacement cable or do I have to make my own?

Can this AV-534 antenna be trimmed and tune to 146mhz?

No, P/N AV-534 can not be trimmed, the antenna frequency :118 to 137Mhz .

Hi! Thank you for your quick response. Another question, is THE Rami AV-534 antenna complete with fasteners, or do I need to order the RAMI AV-534 INSTALLATION KIT?

AV-534 includes the antenna with insulator and the mounting hardware

Does the RAMI AV-534 / AV-534L have an STC?

This antenna does not have an STC. It does have a TSO certification which allows install on certified aircraft. Please consult with your A&P to determine if this can be legally installed on your aircraft.
