The Garmin Bare Wires Aviation Mount expands the communication possibilities of the Aera using the aviation mount with connected power cable. Connect the bare wires to a panel mount product to transfer data, such as flight plans to your Aera. Also, you can connect to a panel-mounted radio to transfer data from the Aera to the radio and you can connect to a transponder to display air traffic on the Aera. Simply attach the aviation mount to the yoke mount using the included mounting hardware. Compatible with Garmin Aera 795 and 796.

What size fuse is on the 796/795 bare wire cable?

It is a 3 amp fuse or you can run a 3 amp circuit breaker as well.

Will this also power the GDL 39 unit?

No, it will not. This is just a power data cable for the 796 & 795. Garmin does sell a GDL 39 / 796 & 795 cable to power and connect both (11-10736).

Will the Garmin 796 interface with the JPI 830 engine analyzers fuel system?

Yes, with the power data cable you can connect to the JPI 830 so that the 796 can output GPS data to the JPI. The EDM 700/800/760/730/830 and the Garmin 196/296/396/496/696/695/795/796 must share a common ground No EDM programming needed NMEA Output –> NMEA-183 Out.

Does the Garmin Bare Wires Aviation Mount cable have the port for the XM weather antenna?

The Garmin Bare Wires Aviation Mount does include a port for the XM weather antenna.

I have a 430W and a 796 yoke mount. Is there a way that the 430W can talk to the 796? For example, program flight plan in the 430W and have it displany on the 796?

You can transfer information from the 430W to the 796 via an RS232 connection but not visa versa. In the future there may be support for the Garmin Flight stream to support this.

Can the bare wire option, provide a connection to the audio panel?

Yes, the white, green and brown wires are used to connect to an audio source such as an audio panel.

Will Garmin part # 11-10044 connect the Trutrak //VS autopilot to the Garmin 795?

Yes, part number 11-10044 is the correct cable for interfacing to auto pilot systems.

Will this Garmin 795 / 796 bare wire cable have a mini USB input for the XM antenna?

Yes, there is a female mini USB input that the XM antenna will plug into.

Can this cable allow the connection to a radio such as a G650 via RS232 to upload flight plans to?

The GTN 650 IFR navigator will only allow flight time inputs via the Garmin Flightstream 210 unit. The GTN 650 cannot be directly connected to a portable device to receive inputs, it can only output flight plans to a portable.

Is there a permanent external antenna for the 796 weather and GPS I can get to install with this?

The only antennas compatible with this unit are the GXM 40 and GXM 42.

Can external GPS information (from other sources on the aircraft) be fed to the 796 via the mount or does the external antenna provided with the unit need to be plugged directly into the 796?

The Garmin 796 cannot be fed any external GPS data. It can only use the internal GPS signal.

Will the Garmin bare wires aviation mount interface with the Airgizmos 795/796 docking system?

Yes, this cable will work with the Airgizmos dock.

Does this bare wire connector allow ads-b traffic from GTX 345 transponder?

Per the manual, the GTX 345 is designed to receive, process, and output traffic (ADS-B air-to-air, and TIS-B traffic information), and weather (Flight Information Service-Broadcast (FIS-B)) information to the aera 795/796 through a power/data cable. The connection can also be made over bluetooth.

I just bought a GDL 50 and have an aera 796 mounted in the panel...is there a way i can connect the two directly and power the GDL 50 thru the 796 or a cable that does that?
